A spell checker with over 9 million words? Only in BrOffice and OpenOffice. Currently the project broffice.org offers three versions of VERO (Spell Checker): full, light and ideal. Only the most ideal version is not recommended because the withdrawal of some words may cause some flaws in the formation of compounds. We can either install the full version as the light, that with less words, but that does not affect the verification. The light seems to be the best option.
Before installing we test if there is no longer a recent version installed. In a document in openoffice open type the word 'apaixonadíssimo' and give a space, if it appears grifada in red is a sign that is out of date. Then to work. Please note the following steps should be done by root or using sudo. Download the version that works best for you:
Full: http://www.deso-se.com.br/downloads/pt_BR-2008-07-07AOC.zip
Light: http://www.deso-se.com.br/downloads/pt_BR-2008-07-07AOL.zip
Unzip the file to a temporary folder (eg / tmp). Then copy the file pt_BR.aff and pt_BR.dic to the folder / usr / share / myspell / dicts in my case the file already existed then replace with the command:
# Cp-f / tmp / en_US .* / usr / share / myspell / dicts
Then make sure you have the "DICT en U.S. en_US" in the file / usr / share / myspell / dicts / dictionary.lst (this is symlink to / etc / openoffice / dictionary.lst).
Any questions or problems README_pt_BR.TXT see the file that accompanies the. Zip, this is especially important information in the sections "AS INSTALLING THE BRAZILIAN VERIFIER BROFFICE.ORG" and "Frequently Asked Questions"

everthonvs,

Either way you can always find the updated files on the page of the broffice: http://www.broffice.org/verortografico/baixar
I have the same problem but the terminal tells me that I have permisão how can I resolve now grateful
glenio hello,
Did not understand what you mean with "the same problem," because the links are updated. You tried to go straight to the site broffice.org? The problem of permission must be occurring in an attempt to save the file to a folder where you do not have permission. Make the installation with the root user or use sudo, if your distro is based on administration sudo. Perhaps this was a failure of the text I will update it informing of the need for super user to install.
Thank you.
