Migrate systems and versions is always problematic. Who came however in the new Ubuntu 8:04 must have noticed that many of their favorite extensions no longer work as Firefox 3b5. There are several alternatives including installing the FF 2, but not as I do so I decided to try other ways.
The method used to alter the advanced settings of Firefox 3:
- Type about: config in the address bar after a "enter", a warning message like the picture below appears. Click "I will be careful, I promise."
- Right-click on any area within the window select "New option -> Boolean ..." fill in the name "extensions.checkCompatibility" and set it to false.
- Create a new entry in the same way the previous item but appoints as "extensions.checkUpdateSecurity" setting it to false too.
- Restart your Firefox 3 and ready.
Remarks: to install the extension for delicious you should download the file. XPI manually with another browser (eg epiphany) then open the file with Firefox 3. If you can not download the extension can try this direct link. The best is that most of the other incompatible extensions will also work:-D. Despite all there may be some instability and / or crashes or is it aware of the risks! Do not forget to share your results in comments OK?

Hello, I found interesting and Firefox3 was not interested in removing it from my Ubuntu Hardy. But was a little discouraged with the extensions. Your tutorial came in good time. I followed your tutorial and, for now, everything is functioning normally.

I was very sorry to leave the FF 3. In my case for extending the delicio.us worked very well, only a suggestion to shift the tag as I post a bookmark. I did a thorough test of running all the extensions ... but I was already quite familiar with this solution did not work was the extension Tab Mix Plus, but it is not so important, I can 't expect a q update (case resolved update).

In my case, use the extension that frees slots in Megaupload and worked normal. I also used the Tab Mix Plus but like you said. I think that updates will come as we increase the number of users and, consequently, the number of applications for which they are made.
