Recently I tested my main desktop as the alpha version 6 of Ubunut 8.04 codenamed "Hardy Heron." One of the novelties of this version is Firefox 3, still in beta 4. But as you know beta is beta, alpha is alpha, then we do not pass by without some mishaps along the way. One of probelmas is the Java virtual keyboard of the Bank of Brazil that not charged in any way with the packages of java repositories of Ubuntu. So I left the search for alternatives and after much sweat I found a great tip on the blog jpbotelho and in fact worked with adjustments. As in my case I had to make some adjustments then describe the steps below that worked.
www.java.net / download / jdk6 / 6u10 / promoted / b13 / binaries / jdk-6u10-beta-bin-b13-linux-i586-06_mar_2008.bin $ Wget http:// www.java.net / download / jdk6 / 6u10 / promoted / B13 / binaries / jdk-6u10-beta-bin-B13-linux-i586-06_mar_2008.bin opt $ Sudo mv jdk-6u10-beta-bin-B13-linux-i586-06_mar_2008.bin / opt opt $ Cd / opt $ Chmod + x jdk-6u10-beta-bin-B13-linux-i586-06_mar_2008.bin jdk-6u10-beta-bin-b13-linux-i586-06_mar_2008.bin $ Sudo. / Jdk-6u10-beta-bin-B13-linux-i586-06_mar_2008.bin usr / lib / firefox-addons / plugins $ Cd / usr / lib / firefox-addons / plugins / opt / jdk1.6.0_10 / jre / plugin / i386 / ns7 / libjavaplugin_oji.so libjavaplugin.so $ Sudo ln-sf / opt / jdk1.6.0_10 / jre / plugin / i386 / ns7 / libjavaplugin_oji.so libjavaplugin.so
If you compare my solution with the colleague observed jpbotelho I used the plugin located in / opt/jdk1.6.0_10/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so instead of / opt/jdk1.6.0_10/jre/lib / i386/libnpjp2.so that did not work for me. Even replacing the original libjavaplugin.so symbolic link with the new plugin using "ln-sf". Another observation is that the directory / usr / lib / firefox-addons / plugins is always linked into the folder / usr/lib/firefox-3.0b4.
I hope we have success.

Please enter the architecture of your machine. I386 is probably, right?
Marcelo,
I installed the machine is a Turion, so AMD64, though the version of Ubuntu was installed i386.
Another important observation is that had this problem with version 6 of Ubuntu 8.04 alpha. After I left the final version did a clean install and do not need this procedure to make the keyboard java work. Only the official repository of packages resolve the problem.
A mere uninstall package sun-java6-plugin and install the package sun-java5-plugin through synaptic.
jociel,
his recipe is now much better than mine.
Published this information about using the Ubuntu 8.04 alpha 6 and FF 3 beta 4, now I am already with the Ubuntu 8.04.1 and 3.0.1 FF here and there they already corrected this and other problems, now is just enjoy!
Thanks for your cooperation.
I do not know if the problem is the same, but use Ubuntu 8.04.1 and 3.0.1 FF and still have problems. The keyboard's login Bank of Brazil carries on the good, but then the FF hangs with a message in the status bar saying that the aplet the keyboard has not been started and there just killing the FF.
paulo,
before upgrading my system for the versions you mentioned that happened quite often with me. Recently happened again and not to have to kill the FF I simply delete all the cookies Bank of Brazil (* bancobrasil.com.br, bb.com.br *) and managed to load the java keyboard without problems.
you tried to tip the jociel in the comment above? perhaps work.
Thank you for the tip! was with this problem and the solution given by the friend decided to stop hehe. Goodbye!
Here's suggestion worked Jociel.
Uninstall the sun-java6 and installed the sun-java5-plugin through Synaptic, in Debian Lenny.
Thanks for the tip!
