Recently deploy an anti-virus solution on Debian etch for sharing Internet with the Squid integrating it with HAVP + clamav. The HAVP (HTTP Anti Virus Proxy) is an HTTP proxy antivirus and the solution was chosen because it seemed the most simple and easy to integrate. But the problem is that the official repositories of Debian 4.0 "etch" the package has not HAVP. However repositories in Debian sid (unstable) the package this HAVP there and in its latest version 0.87. Then decided to download. HAVP the deb and install to see what was going on (no cost to try!). When you run the traditional:

  # Dpkg-i havp_0.87-1_i386.deb 

the package management system "demands" of some dependencies mainly related to clamav and libclamav3, but these dependencies can not be solved by standard repositories of Debian etch. Today I had the idea to use the repository volatile, essential for any system administrator Debian. (More on the use of volatile repository).

Once you have resolved the disputes HAVP the package installed well.

Download the package havp_0.87-1_i386.deb the mirror of your choice.
